At Anthony C Garza DDS, our team is here to provide alternative solutions to patients who desire more from their new smiles. While traditional tooth replacement solutions are effective, only dental implants can rebuild the root-to-crown tooth structures. Working alongside Dr. Ashley’s husband, who is a periodontist, we will ensure that your gaps are filled in with the most supportive and aesthetically pleasing prosthetics you can find. If you’re ready to change the way you see your smile, call us to schedule a consultation.

What Are Dental Implants?

When looking at a normal tooth, you’ll find it contains a root and a crown. Most tooth replacement options can only replace the visible portion, but dental implants can go beneath the gumline to mimic the tooth root and provide continuous stimulation to the bone. As a result, they fuse together and create a stable foundation for your new crown, bridge, or denture. And with optimal care, you’ll enjoy a smile that can last 30+ years or even a lifetime.

The 4-Step Dental Implant Process

  • Initial Dental Implant Consultation – Meeting with our team for a scheduled consultation is the first step, as we’ll need to determine the status of your oral and overall health as well as your jawbone. If you need preliminary treatments (i.e., bone grafting, periodontal therapy, etc.), we’ll incorporate this into your timeline.
  • Dental Implant Surgery – Dr. Ashley’s husband is a local periodontist who is pleased to place dental implants for our patients. We’ll refer you to him so that we can be sure that your new teeth will remain firmly in place.
  • Dental Implant Osseointegration/Abutment – Once you are sent home to recover, it can take between 3 and 6 months for osseointegration, the fusing of the bone and implant, to complete. After you’re fully healed, you’ll have your connected appliances, commonly known as metal abutments, put into place.
  • Delivery of Dental Implant Restoration(s) – Whether you receive a custom-made dental crown, bridge, or denture, you can trust that our team at Garza & Associates will have a new tooth designed and ready for placement once you’re fully healed from your surgery and abutment procedures.

Benefits of Dental Implants

When surveying your options for tooth replacement, a helpful tool you can use to determine which one is right for you is to look at the various benefits. Although dental bridges and dentures sound appealing because of the cost, dental implants are proven to be more cost-effective and longer-lasting. Not to mention, most of your bite force and chewing power are fully restored because of the stability that exists within your jawbone.
